In a sector where 90% of everything is transported by sea, the need for precise, timely data is paramount. The goal of this project was to provide users—vessel operators, crew officers, and captains— with critical, real-time information in the palm of their hands, empowering them to make swift decisions and avoid financial loss.
90PoE (short for '90 Percent of Everything') is a cutting-edge platform designed to streamline maritime operations by providing real-time data and decision-making tools for the shipping industry. Research
The maritime shipping industry relies on intricate planning and real-time decision-making. However, the flow of information is often delayed due to traditional communication methods, and this lag in data transfer can lead to significant losses, both in time and finances.
The challenge was to ensure that operators, captains, and crew officers could access key information regarding vessel movements, weather conditions, and itinerary updates swiftly, regardless of location. The solution needed to be agile, intuitive, and facilitate immediate action based on real-time data.
Our Approach
To achieve the desired outcome, we approached the solution in three key phases: Research, Development, and Launch. Through rapid prototyping and early user feedback, we ensured that our product not only met but exceeded user expectations, providing an invaluable tool for smoother, more efficient operations.
We conducted thorough research to understand user needs and industry trends, which guided our design approach. Using collaborative ideation and iterative design processes, we developed a landing page that ensures intuitive and seamless user interactions.
We followed a creative process that involved ideation and iteration, ensuring innovative and effective design solutions for the landing page. Collaborative methods such as design workshops and brainstorming sessions fostered diverse perspectives and ideas. The landing page's UX design prioritized intuitive and seamless interactions for the target audience.
The UI design approach focused on creating visually appealing and engaging interfaces that harmonize with the client's branding and cater to the target audience's preferences.Careful consideration was given to typography, colour schemes, iconography, and imagery.
The journey to improving real-time decision-making in the maritime industry is ongoing. Future developments will focus on expanding the platform’s predictive capabilities and integrating with even more third-party data sources to provide users with an even broader view of voyage risks and operational metrics.
